Ikat Diamond Stool is our more angular stool, with a little more attitude than its Dice counterpart. It’s perfect for clustering in social spaces, along a wall or of course at the table. The Ikat Diamond stool sits easily with other styles.
The villagers of Quang Nam have been collaborating with WWF Vietnam for the last 5 years to convert their old rattan harvesting techniques to all sustainable practices; keeping the forests in the highlands of central Vietnam intact; and making the continuation of traditional village life more feasible in the long term.
The Ikat style has been emulated in fashion of late, but nothing compares to the authentic fabric in which you can actually see each hand dyed thread lining up alongside the next, each moving slightly this way and that, creating an incredibly beautiful play of irregularity.
Each sale of this stool supports the village communities of Quang Nam, by providing fair employment and creating demand for their sustainably sourced and processed rattan. Each sale also supports the weavers of Takeo by providing fair employment and contributes to ensuring traditional village life remains sustainable into the future.
